Printer not working after iOS 18.1.1

I hate iPhone updates. My printer worked fine until this last update. Seems I’m not the only one with issues. Will there be a fix?

iPhone 15, iOS 18

I have an HP Color LaserJet MFP M283fdw printer. I have the same issue after updating to IOS 18.1.1. At first, I thought it was the driver issue but after looking around HP support site for a while, I found one video about checking Air Print setup. It led me to the solution. It suggested me to type the IP address of the printer which is connected to my WiFi router (in my case, it's Xfinity router) onto my Safari browser to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) page directly. Of course, It just hung. I noticed that the IP address reported in the Network Summary page from the printer starts with 169.x.x.x which is not corresponding to the current IP address of my Xfinity router which starts with 10.x.x.x. So, I went into Xfinity router setup and did the "forget" this printer/device to remove the printer from Xfinity WiFi listing. Then I went into the network setup on the printer (via LCD panel) and removed all the network settings, and restarted the printer (power off/on). I re-added the printer to the Xfinity router. The new IP address (WiFi) assigned to the printer is now starting with 10.x.x.x. as expected. Access to EWS pages shows that Air print is already enabled anyway. I then tested the printing and it worked fine. I also can access and print from Hp Smart App as before. I'm not sure how I got the 169* IP address for the printer. I assumed it was assigned automatically the last time Xfinity router was rebooted (DHCP is enabled by default). I updated my phone and iPad to IOS 18.x a couple of day before my Xfinity service went down two days ago. I did not try test printing until today. I hope this help or at least give you some idea where to look for troubleshooting!

My hp smart printer is no longer being found by my iPhone 16 plus max or my latest iPad, since update 18.02.

I've gone through all the steps suggested here, countless times, and it’ll work for a few pages, but then once again, the same issue: ‘no air printer detected!’

And the steps I mentioned were all that are suggested in these posts: turning off router, and printer and all devices for a few minute and then putting on the router and later the printer, then all devices, and as I said, either I hasn’t worked at all, or only for a few pages then fails again. Apple: please get this fixed!

My HP printer was fine until this last update 18.1 . This recent 18.2 made it worse!!!!

I resurrected my laptop and my printer works just fine - I even updated the programs -

now, my iPhone and iPad can’t print!!!! I spent 4 hours yesterday and finally had it fixed , then this morning, back to not printing from apple devices but fine from my laptop!

can we reverse this upgrade????? OR MAYBE APPLE CAN FIX THIS ISSUE?
