Intermittent high-pitched noise from Apple Studio Display power input

Hello there,

I bought an Apple Studio Display base model with a M4 MacBook Pro. Got home and connected the devices. Looks and works like a dream!

However, can't be entirely happy with the Apple Studio Display as it keeps making a high pitch noise which keeps going on and off. It is very dim noise but yet noticeable due to the high-pitched. If I describe in words - like crickets in distance going on and off randomly.

I exchanged the Studio Display at the Apple Store and got a new device with a new serial number. Connected it to my M4 MacBook Pro and it still makes the intermittent noise.

Also tried these different scenarios - connecting it to my iPad, connecting directly to the wall power socket, different rooms and locations, and in all scenarios the noise issue remains.

I just love this device and don't want to return it. The other Samsumg, LG, Benq options are all very ordinary against the aluminium-bodied, beautiful looking and sounding Display! The speakers are just fantastic.

Could anyone help me find what the issue could be? Whether it's to do with the overall Power Supply in my Apartment? Or am I just overthinking, and this noise is an issue in ALL devices?

yes, you're right... different locations within my apartment. I will definitely try at a friend's apartment after the Christmas holidays.

I'm just working again today and noticed the intermittent noise is happening MUCH LESS FREQUENTLY... Also praying it just disappeared!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! :)

hello all, thank you for participating in this forum. after making several unsuccessful trials, I have given-up on my Studio Display and returned it back to my local Apple Store. Great service by Apple, as always. I received a refund as the device was within the 7-day period. I will now contemplate on best 27 inch options and make my decision accordingly in February 2025 once I return to work.

Who knows, I might go back and get another Apple Studio Display, and this time it may not have this intermittent buzzing/cricket-like noise issue from the rear bottom part.

I don't have any implants or gadget strapped to myself. The noise starts and stops regardless when I'm around the Studio Display.. just very random.

Do you think it could be power related, and whether a UPS power back-up would help if I connect the main power through it, rather than directly connecting to wall socket for power?
