Why is iPhone Mirroring not available in Germany?

I am a new user to Mac, I discovered that ïPhone Mirroring" feature is not available in my region which is Germany. May I know why this is the case? or I have setup something wrong?

The EU DMA rules would require Apple to make iPhone Mirroring available on any computer. That would appear to be a huge security risk that Apple is not prepared to take. Apple controls the security on the Mac and can restrict actions that would not be possible on another computer. You can find out the other impacts on the DMA rules and how it affects your devices here:

I just tried this also and got a notification that my country doesn't support mirroring from Mac to iPhone (Germany). It works fine from iPhone to Mac though, so I don't quite understand the logic of this if indeed it was a security risk.

Since the EU has labeled Apple as a "Gatekeeper", it has required them to make its features/services available on all device platforms where it cannot control the security or safety of its users. Using a Mac for iPhone mirroring is controlled by Apple where they make the OS on both devices to restrict how it can be used and that would not be possible if it was required to allow the same with a Windows/Chrome device. The solution is to not release the feature in the EU.

I'm sorry can you please explain your answer to me? So what makes it that an iPhone outside of Germany or the EU can mirror to any computer without the same risk you mention?

iPhone mirroring is only possible when using a Mac computer in all regions where it is available.. Apple can ensure security between both of those devices because they make both devices along with the operating system of both of those devices. The DMA rules would require Apple to make the feature available so any computer could mirror the iPhone and that is not the case elsewhere.

As Mac Jim ID said, that doesn't work outside the EU either. It doesn't work anywhere. The difference is that EU regulators make this foolish and unreasonable demand, while US regulators, for example, do not. So if Apple wanted to make this feature available in the EU, they would have to add that specifically for the EU, which they don't want to so they don't offer it there. The same goes for several other Apple products or features.

There isn’t a “Mac Mirroring” app on iOS, so I don’t understand what you think works from iPhone to Mac.

The security implication mentioned is about making it available on all non-Apple computers.
