iphone 8 got locked, multiple wrong attempts, I DONT want to lose data

I borrowed this phone to my mom for any emergency phone pickup,

however, she tried to unlock it several times, (she is used to android, where locked phones can be opened by owner again, easily).

iphone 8 got locked, multiple wrong attempts, now saying 'iphone unavailable' - how to unlock without losing any data ?

NOTE- 'I dont have backups' to restore very important data from this phone.

I did a lot of research, watched videos and every knowledge article/video is pointing towards 'resetting phone with ERASED data' and the phone is almost new again... I dont want that... How come apple cannot have any support on genuine cases where true owner or child or older parent could have mistakenly used wrong password.

I hope apple has a solution...

Sorry, no they don't. Once the phone is locked, your data is gone.

The only way back in is to reset your phone which will wipe out all the data.

If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled or unavailable -

If you see a iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro unavailable message or Security Lockout screen - Apple Support

If the phone has gone into security lockout, any data that exists only on the phone itself is gone – or as good as gone. You tell us that you have no backups. That's bad. Backups must be made before a catastrophe strikes – afterwards generally is too late.

There is one more thing you might want to check. If the phone was set up to synchronize data to iCloud – e.g., it was set up to use iCloud Photos – synchronized data that had made it to iCloud would survive the erasure of the phone, and could be restored by re-synchronizing the phone (or another device) to iCloud.

You could check if there is anything in iCloud by logging into https://www.icloud.com/ from just about any modern Web browser – on a Mac, Windows PC, Linux PC, or even a ChromeBook.

Note that if you were not using iCloud synchronization on the phone, it is too late to save any data by turning it on now. You must turn on synchronization on the phone itself – and you won't have another chance to play with the settings until after you erase the phone to get back in.

Passcodes and passwords - Apple Support

"If the Erase Data option is turned on for iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro (in Settings > [Optic ID], [Face ID], or [Touch ID] & Passcode), after 10 consecutive incorrect attempts to enter the passcode, all content and settings are removed from storage. Consecutive attempts of the same incorrect passcode don’t count toward the limit."
