This is why you will no longer find the TikTok app (or various other ByteDance Ltd apps) in Apple's U.S. App Store or Google's U.S. Play Store.
Apple and Google didn't make the decision to ban TikTok. The U.S. Government and ByteDance/TikTok did – the U.S. Government by passing the law, and ByteDance/TikTok by refusing to disentangle themselves from Chinese Government control.
