Apple Music Not Loading iPod Nano Gen 4

My iPod Nano Gen 4 is connected to my Macbook Pro. All settings and versions are up-to-date. I can see the iPod is connected in Apple Music but when I try to open the device to view it's content the "loading" wheel continually spins and nothing is displayed.
