Why is my Canon scanner not appearing in Mac Settings?

Hi please can someone help me?

Bought myself Canon Pixma G3430 printer recently. Connected it via wi-fi, printing is working well and I see the printer in the "Printers and scanners" settings (I`ve added it here). But the "scan" section has completely dissapeared from the settings. Tried to install IJ Canon Scan Utility, but everytime I want to activate it, I have this error:

"Cannot communicate with scanner for these reasons:

- Scanner is turned off.

- (If using Wired LAN connection) It is disconnected from Wired LAN.

- (If using wireless LAN connection) Signal strength is poor due to obstructions.

- Network connection is prohibited by security software.

- Different scanner on the network is selected.

Check the above and try scanning again.

If you still cannot communicate, restart the computer."

Downloaded Canon wi-fi connection assistant too and everything seems fine here. What can I do now? Thanks for every advice

Yes, printing should work without additional drivers (the Canon G3430 is listed as an AirPrint-supported model).

Have you tried Apple's Image Capture for scanning (an appropriate ICA driver may be needed)?

Does the printer have the latest firmware?
