Lost notes upon connecting to icloud

I have lost some notes on my notes app on my mac after I increased my icloud storage I don't know where they have gone but I need to recover them.

How do I recover notes i lost from my iPhone notes? I have lost more the 50 of my notes from my notes folder. I tried to open my notes folder and found that over 50+ notes are missing not sure when they disappeared however they are gone now don’t know what happened to cause this. I lost all my notes in iCloud and can not find then anywhere…nor can I seem to be able to recover I lost all my notes in iCloud…I didn’t delete them…so I don’t understand where they went
