MacBook Air 13" M3: external Lenovo Monitor sometimes just black

When I connect my external monitor, the screen remains black for a few seconds, even though my MacBook already detects the monitor. After a few seconds, the actual screen flashes once or twice. The screen then works. When I close the lid to use clamshell mode, the external display also stays black for a few seconds. Sometimes the screen goes black for a few seconds during normal use.

Devices:

• MacBook Air 13" M3 running macOS 15.2
• Lenovo Q27h-20 with USB-C 3.2 and support for Display Port Alt Mode
• Thunderbolt 4 cable

I’ve also tried a MacBook Air M1 on this monitor, and couldn’t find any problems. So I’m wondering if this is a hardware problem with the M3 MacBook.
