How can I migrate selected files from old iMac to new iMac?

I used Migration Assistant to go from old Intel iMac to new iMac. How can I migrate selected folders from my old Desktop to the new one? I don't need everything, definitely some.

You have several options for transferring folders from one Mac to another.

• Use an external drive, (SSD or flash) and the drag and drop method to transfer those folders.

(You cannot use a Time Machine backup disk for this.)

• Use file sharing to move your folders from one Mac to another.

• Set up the old iMac in target disk mode to transfer those folders.
