Connect 24-inch LED Cinema Display to iMac M4 Thunderbolt 4

Hi all, I have a new iMac M4 with 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports. I'd like to connect my trusty 24-inch LED Cinema Display (A1267) which has a 3-head connector bundle: minidisplay port/USB-A/magsafe. I have an Apple Thunderbolt 2 (minidisplay port) to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) adapter (type A1790), but on connection the Cinema isn't recognised at all by the iMac. I'd welcome any advice about how to proceed. I've searched the Community for similar issues but not found this exact combination. Thank you! -- Toby

The Apple Thunderbolt adapter is for Thunderbolt displays and will not work with Mini DisplayPort displays, even though the plugs will fit.

You need a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter, such as: https://www.startech.com/display-video-adapters/cdp2mdp

Has the cable frayed? Any bad connection with newer Macs/MacOS would not cooperate with the displays.

Even it would work on the older models, but just not the newer Macs.

Unfortunately, unlike TB display - you have no other additional connection to fall back.

There is one Hun - gears for Mini-Display port (purely up to you).

OWC TB3 Hub - it has a mini-display port with few USB ports at your disposal.

You can just omit the magsafe portion.
