macOS Sequoia System Storage Calculation Issue
macOS Sequoia system storage won't calculate and total count is half of the OS alone.

The system storage bug appears to be resolved on my end. I believe it was caused by a miscalculation of cached data. In my case, I had files downloaded from iCloud Drive that artificially inflated the storage usage. Once I removed those downloaded files, my storage returned to normal, and I haven’t encountered the issue since.
I’d recommend right-clicking your main drive and checking the total data on disk compared to what’s reported in storage. It’s a good place to check first and might help you identify the issue.
