iTunes not recognizing Apple Account login information

I can login and sync music on my phone and I pad but Itunes on my laptop wont recognize the same login and password info. It keeps reverting to my old email address. I know I'll never get Apple to figure out how to convert one Itunes login to my current one but that's another issue.
