I’m new to macbook things and still learning and doing research about it, but I’m still confused. I want to buy macbook for editing my vlog videos, and I want my macbook longlasting for years (not only for 2-3 years).
could you guys help me decide which one is better for me?
Macbook air M4 with 16RAM, or Macbook pro M2 with 8RAM.

Never buy a MacBook with 8 GB of RAM. On apple silicon Macs, the RAM is non expandable so you want to have enough of that. 8gb is not enough for modern day standards
So if you want to go for the Pro, you'll need a variant with at least 16 GB of memory, for it to be future proof, you might want to get onto 24 gigs of RAM For video editing, the Pro can be a better choice over the Air, due to the pro featuring active cooling, that the air does not. That means that it can render videos quicker for a longer period of time because when the laptop becomes hot, the active cooling is switched on. This is the most important if you render longer high quality videos .
