AirPods Max: Balancing Noise Cancellation & Ambient Conversations?

When using the AirPods Max, even with noise cancellation turned on, people on my calls can hear background conversations clearly. This doesn’t happen with my AirPods Pro 2. Is there a way to adjust the microphone settings to reduce background noise during calls? Any tips or settings I should check?

Airpods pro 2 adaptive mode in ios17 behavior issue Hello everyone, I've noticed something interesting with the Adaptive mode on my airpods pro 2. When I'm in a quiet environment ( no one talks but there is surrounding noise ), it remains in transparent mode, but as soon as I start talking with someone, it switches to noise cancellation mode. I would have thought the behavior should be the opposite - enabling noise cancellation in quieter environments and switching to transparent mode during conversations. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Also, is the Adaptive mode supposed to learn and adjust based on my usage habits over time? Would appreciate any insights or shared experiences. Thanks!

AirPods Pro picking up background noise on call AirPods Pro picking up background noise on call this issue has been posted on this forum since 2020 no microphone noise suppression, in fact seems to amplify back ground noise to the caller. Everyone still seems to be having trouble with making phone calls with your AirPod pros? Every time I talk with someone through my AirPods, they complain about how LOUD everything is on my end. Not only do they pick up ambient background noise, but for some reason they seem to amplify these sounds as well. I can be doing something as minute as unzipping my backpack while I’m on the phone and my friends will express how irritating the sound is. What do I do? My devices are all up to date. I’ve tried the “forget AirPods Pro” trick in the Bluetooth menu. I hate that there has still not been a fix for this to my knowledge ? surely Apple engineers have to address or recall them as its a fault & or provide an open statement confirming the issue & noise cancellation property’s so widely sold, only work one way… & are amplified to 3rd party callers 🤷‍♂️

AirPods lowering volume when I speak My AirPods started doing something weird after updating to iOS 17; When I speak, or even sing along, it immediately lowers the volume to ensure I hear everything around me. I understand that this may be a nice feature at times, it may need to be turned off when I simply want to tune out. In fact, on several occasions, I found it trying to answer questions from people around me simply because it thought that I was speaking. What is the fix?

Yes, I think it concerns the chip used on the AirPods Max and the voice isolation mode.
