Why is my iPhone not charging even with a new cable?

The charging socket on my iPhone seems to be loose or damaged and it is a struggle to charge sometimes. Its not the charging cable

you may be better trying a third party repairer as your iphone 12 will cost about £$450 to repair.

Or buy a wireless charging puck.
