MacBook Air M4 screen displaying 28 numbered squares after visiting Word program

It came after I briefly visited the Word program to see the price. Could it be helplines for a diagram?

One single vertical line on screen I have googled this problem but found only replies relating to people who have several lines on their screen. My macbook however has only one single blue/violet vertical line, running from the top to the bottom of the screen. This is unlikely caused by overheating, as I had turned the laptop off overnight, yet the line was still there when I restarted the laptop. Does anyone know where this comes from? What does it mean and what can I do to fix it? Thank you in advance for your help with this.
