Removing a blank page from a document in Pages

When I try to delete a blank page from a document in Pages, I get the following message:

"Are you sure you want to delete all content from your document? An empty page will replace your document."

This is after using thumbnail and highlighting the page I want to delete.

You cannot remove a blank page in a Pages word-processing format document by using the thumbnail. You can use the thumbnail to jump to the blank page, but then you will need to click at the beginning of that blank page and backspace to remove it.
