How do I disable cursor blinking on MacBook Air?

Hello.

When writing creative texts, I am very distracted by the "cursor flickering".

I was looking for how to disable cursor flickering on a MacBook, but I only found:

– instructions for disabling cursor flickering for Windows

– instructions for disabling another cursor parameter on a Mac (disabling cursor magnification).

It is very important for me to disable mouse cursor flickering on a Mac.

The instructions for the MacBook for cursor settings are one point.

I have ASD, I am very distracted by cursor flickering, I cannot concentrate on writing text, because my attention is literally twitching at the blinking on my monitor.

In our country, statistics do not study what percentage of autism there is in the country, but in a neighboring country (Finland), statistics say that autism occurs in 10% of citizens.

1/10 people is an objectively large number of people to take their wishes into account.

And Windows did it. But Apple has no settings to disable cursor blinking.

Too bad. I hope I don't have to change software to Windows.

I bought a MacBook because its comfortable screen inspired me to create, but I have to give up Apple because the blinking on my monitor simply does not allow me to concentrate on the creative process of generating author's text.

I ask Apple to fill the gap and create an option to disable cursor blinking on the monitor as soon as possible.

I ask for help in publicizing this problem. The laptop is my working tool, I earn my living with the help of it.

Hey Brian, the Motion entry does not exit on a Mac in Accessibility.

The Non Blinking Cursor option can be found under System Settings ➜ Accessibility ➜ Display. Unless that changed with macOS 15.3.2 which I have not yet installed.

Of note, is it may not work everywhere or the App in question may need to be quit and re-opened to respond to the option.

Thanks for the notice, Phil0124! 👍🏼

I was under the impression that all the settings were the same across devices.

I am on my MacBook Pro right now and can confirm the following:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select Accessibility
  3. Select Display
  4. Toggle the switch for Prefer non-blinking cursor = on

Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉
