Here is Apple’s advice for lost or stolen devices:

Use the Find My app to locate a lost or stolen device – Apple Support

If the Find My iPad feature was enabled prior to it being “misplaced”, then if active, you would stand a good chance of locating it.

However, if the feature was not activated prior to being misplaced - or the iPad has been inactive for more than 24 hours without network connection, the last known location will not be available - and the opportunity to use technical means to recover the iPad may have been lost.

Good one.

Question. Do you remember sharing a recovery request to a friend. Or family member? Or sharing your location to someone when you had the device?

maybe ask your “go-to” friends and family and have them look in their iCloud - advanced data protection tab….. there they will see whether or not you sent them a request. That’s for recovery.

or in their “find my”, and that’ll be for the devices location.

best of luck.

if all else fails, and you can positively identify that the device is yours, apple tech should be able to locate the device for you, even if the power is off and or battery dead. I believe.🤞🏻
