Photos recognition not working on my iPhone 15 Pro Max with iOS 17.5

Hi! I’m using iphone 15promax with ios 17.5

About a month ago i’ve adopted a new dog, today i wanted to look for his photos to send to my friend, but people & pets wouldn’t let me add him as a new pet. I also found that my previously exciting pets’ photos are not updating since jan 8th. When I type “dog” into photos’ search, I can find his photos, so the algorithm knows he is a dog, just wouldn’t let me add him as one. I’ve tried every tip from different websites, refreshed everything. I don’t wanna upgrade to iOS 18, but that’s the only tip i’ve ignored
