Can't remove "Recently Added" songs from my iPhone Music Library

My iPhone Music Library includes "Recently Added" songs that I can't figure out how to remove from my iPhone. I tried syncing with my iMac with all music deselected and it made no difference.

How do I include only the songs I want on my iPhone?

Songs on Music app. I have deleted all my songs off my iphone and my Library in Music. When i connect my phone to my Mac and open it in the Music app. I still have 20 songs listed. They will not delete or play , right clicking does nothing.

iTunes Windows - How to remove music list on device? Having trouble clearing the 'Music' list in iTunes > Devices > My iPhone > Music, which is supposed to show music on the device. This list remains, even after I have deleted all music from the iPhone. And whilst it remains in this list I can no longer add the song/album back onto the device (I delete from Settings > Apps > Music > Downloaded music > Edit > All Songs). Is there a way to clear this list in iTunes? I managed to do it previously. Can't seem to get it to clear now though :-/ I usually just drag/drop albums to the iPhone (under Devices in iTunes) then delete albums from the iPhone when I want to change up the music on there.
