Ipod touch 3rd gen doesn't go into DFU mode when buttons pressed?

So I've tried absolutely everything I can, updating apple devices [I use a windows PC, Windows 11 pro], changing ports or computers, and restarting my computer, but the iPod is stuck on the iTunes logo with the cable, and when I try put it into DFU mode, it refuses and doesn't do anything until it switches off again. When plugged in, the computer prompts me to restore it as it has been "found" in recovery mode, yet when I agree, it tells me to restore it from DFU mode, to which I haven't been able to. This is a pretty old iPod but I'm not giving up on it just yet.
