I use my iPad 12 for personal matters, especially using Notes to draft ideas. I use my iMac in business. I was surprised to find my iPad Notes appearing in the Notes app on the iMac. Others at work have access to the iMac.

Turn off Notes syncing on your iMac. Go to Apple menu > System Settings > [username] > iCloud > Notes; click on Notes there and then turn off "Sync this Mac."
