Macbook Pro Retina, 15 inch mid 2015 won't auto update past version 12.7.6 I need it updated to update other programs.

You cannot update a MacBook Pro (Retina 15-inch, Mid 2015) to macOS 13 (Ventura) or higher. For that Mac, macOS 12 (Monterey) is the end of the line.

The mid-2015 MacBook Pro cannot be upgraded beyond macOS 10.12 Monterey.

If you need to use software that requires macOS 13 or newer, then you'll have to buy a newer Mac.
