How do I fix iMessage activation issues on my iPhone?

In the iMessage activation tab, the number is recognized but can't be selected. Is this an issue regarding my SIM card/carrier or my iPhone. I'm a first-time iOS user.

Hello!


In order to activate iMessage, you need to be able to send and receive SMS messages. See: If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime on your iPhone - Apple Support


So to answer your question, I think it is an issue on your carrier’s end. Reach out to them to discuss the issue.
