“iMessage must be enabled” popup

iMessage is enabled, has been toggled off and on , and the phone (12) has been shut off and restarted. Any other ideas? Only change recently was a change of carrier.

iMessage Not Working iMessage is not working on iPhone. It all started after the iOS17.1.1 update and it restarted my phone as if it were brand new. I can send and receive iMessages on my ipad and my mac, but constantly get 'not delivered' on the iPhone. I have done various steps from disabling and enabling iMessaging. Confirmed that that my phone number is correct, reset network settings, force restart, turning off wifi, turning off cellular, turning on airplane mode, etc. Nothing is working and the only option I was given was to completely factory reset my phone. Hope that there is another option before going through that hassle.

usually works:

Turn off iMessage

Turn off Facetime

Restart iphone

Turn on iMessage - wait for the spinny thing to stop and check the number is correct in Send & Receive

Turn on Facetime
