I just got a message on my iPad reading, "You currently pay $44.96/month for Apple subscriptions. Sign up with Apple One and pay just $44.95/month." Who could say no to savings like that?

There is not an Apple One Subscription that is $44.95/month, at least in the US. As with any message you get, it would not be recommended to respond by clicking a link or calling a number and providing any personal information. That is the easiest way to have your account compromised.
