Mail Links Don't Open in Mail.app

When I get a PDF with mail links in it, I can see that I can click on that email address and it should open a new outgoing email with that address populated in the email. It doesn't work now, after an update.

As well, Launchbar doesn't seem to be able to do the same. So both services are not working with Mail.app.

Any insight appreciated how I can get this fixed.
