On my iPhone 15 I keep getting messages that pop up saying I need a antivirus download this now. Does Apple have its own security or antivirus? Do I need to get one on my phone which one is safe or free?

You do not need a third party anti-virus, your phone is safe.
You don't have any viruses on your phone, it is a scam message designed to get you to purchase unnecessary software or phish for personal information.

These are phishing scams. No, you don't need anti-virus software. These are designed to sell you tools/software for issues you don't have. Keep in mind that sites you visit collect your address and they are paid by these companies to send you these messages. You can go through this to try to help reduce the number of phishing messages you receive, but you truly can't stop them and Apple has no control over them --> Block pop-ups in Safari on iPhone - Apple Support

If you are getting these messages while on a certain site, avoid that site going forward.
We all get these scam messages all the time. Just ignore them, delete them and keep moving.
A complete scam. Delete the message immediately / close the tab and ignore future messages like this.
