How can I delete iCloud messages without losing important ones?

I have 10-20 messages on my devices but my iCloud storage has over 54,000. How do I delete the 54,000 but keep the few on my devices? As I’m writing this I’m asked if the problem is on iCloud iOS, iCloud Mac or iCloud.com and I realize I don't know the difference I thought they were all the same thing.

Can't delete Messages from iCloud I've tried to delete my Messages from all of my devices (1 iPhone, 2 Macs) and nothing happens when I click "Turn Off and Delete." I've also tried this while logged into my iCloud account in a browser. Is there a step I'm missing? My messages take up the bulk of my storage, so I'd like to delete these, as I have zero space left.

How to free up iCloud Message storage? I'm trying to free up space in my Icloud, and post of my storage seems to be taken up by messages, 27.7 GB to be exact. I've followed all the recommended instructions like setting my messages to delete after 30 days, I've deleted conversations and attachments, and this only reduced the number of messages in my Icloud down by around 400. It now says I have 69,729 messages in my cloud and I have no idea where they're coming from. I need a way to delete these thousands of magic invisible messages so that I don’t have to keep paying for more storage as a broke university student. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

In iCloud.com you manage everything, try there on the web.
