Hyperlinks not preserved when exporting an RTF file to PDF in Textedit

Textedit version 1.20, running in Sequoia 15.4.1 on my MacBook Air, doesn't preserve hyperlinks ni an RTF file when I export the file to PDF. In previous versions (e.g., version 1.17 on my older MacBook Pro), the very same RTF file is properly exported with functioning hyperlinks. What's going on?
