Concern about iPhone 16 Pro Max's manufacturer date and battery health

Hello all I am just curious about one thing that recently I have purchased iPhone 16 Pro Max in April but when I look into manufacturer date it shows November 2024 so it's almost 5 months old phone so my question is that I am getting 5 month old phone so what about the battery condition definitely it is showing 100% and good health but as we all know battery degrades with the time whether you use it or not it.

Even if you don’t use the device, chemical reactions continue inside the battery.
Over time, the battery's capacity reduces naturally—this is called calendar aging

What you read is basically true, but what you did not find was how much the battery health will decrease over what period of time. Are we talking about a 1% drop over 8 years with the device powered off? Maybe. In your case you are only talking about 4 months where the device is still showing 100% Battery Health, so you have nothing to be concerned about.

Battery health degrades from usage. When your iPhone was manufactured and shipped, it was charged to around half battery and powered off. It was not used. That is the best way to store an iPhone long term, so it has no effect on the battery health. The battery health shouldn’t go down during the manufacturing and shipping process, and when it arrives to you, it should be at 100% battery health. Also note that iPhones are manufactured a few months before you buy it.

On average you will see a 1% drop when it reaches 50 charge cycles and at 100 charge cycles, you can expect it to be about 98%. Anything better than that is doing better than average. You will have a better understanding on where you are going to fall in this average once you get about 300 charge cycles in where it should be about 94%. As for a manufacturer date of 5 months before purchase, that is not unusual. Enjoy your new phone.

That is only if you don't power off your iPhone if you're storing it for long-term. If you are storing it for the long term, just as your iPhone does when it's manufactured and shipped, you want to have it around half charged and powered off. This is the best practice for storing a battery long term. This way it does not run out of battery and fall into a deep discharge, which can affect the battery health greatly and even prevent your iPhone from turning on ever again. Apple also recommends if you're storing the iPhone longer than 6 months, you want to charge it back to around half charged. Another reason you'll find that Apple's efficient supply chain and your iPhone probably won't sit in a box that long and will be sold before then. This is also due to the reason that people purchased no longer sold iPhones and find out the battery and/or health runs down quickly, because it was manufactured so long ago.

Here’s some advice worth considering. Ignore all the blathering about batteries, charging cycles, and all the other “expert” advice on how to preserve battery life and health. Rely on Apple’s experience and engineering prowess to provide the best battery experience for you the user. Battery life and health is the holy grail of mobile device technology and you can be sure all manufacturers, especially Apple, are spending tremendous amounts of talent and resources in making sure their batteries last as long as possible.

Just relax and enjoy your 16 Pro Max

So what’s your point? Are you upset that your new iPhone was manufactured 5 months ago. Were you expecting to see that the manufacture date was the day before you bought it? Are you expecting Apple to extend your warranty another 5 months from date of purchase. Sorry, that’s not how it works. I really don't understand your concern.
