To my knowledge, in USA all iPhones (starting from model 14) are sold for use with eSIM(s) only.

So, if you can find an old model 13, you can buy it there, but if you want a newer model you need to buy it in another country or order it from an European Amazon site, and you must specify that you need one of these models:

iPhone 16 Pro = A3293

iPhone 16 Pro Max = A3296

iPhone 16 = A3287

iPhone 16 Plus = A3290

iPhone 16e = A3409

iPhone 15 Pro = A3102

iPhone 15 Pro Max = A3106

iPhone 15 = A3090

iPhone 15 Plus = A3094

iPhone 14 Pro = A2890

iPhone 14 Pro Max = A2894

iPhone 14 = A2882

iPhone 14 Plus = A2886

As far as I know, iPhones do not have international warranties. If you buy a phone that is not meant for the U.S. market, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get warranty service in the U.S.

iPhones may also vary in other ways, such as

  • Which cellular bands they support
  • Which Wi-Fi channels they support
  • Whether the camera makes a "shutter" sound that you can't turn off – which, I believe, is required by law in South Korea and maybe also in Japan
  • Whether they are eligible for Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, and 16-series phones in China mainland don't have access to it)

If I remember correctly, some phones for China mainland accept two physical SIM cards – but phones for that market do not accept eSIMs.

Getting an iPhone with a Physical SIM Try:

Purchase it from Apple:

If Apple does not offer your this item where you are, then you might have to have someone purchase it for you. Or, while in the U.S., head over to a local Apple Store to purchase one ---that's you best bet. I'd avoid a site like eBay, Amazon, or Craigslist, as too many scams are reported from those sites on these forums.

Thank you so much for the reply appreciate, I actually am planning to get the new one 17 that’s coming out in September 025 , so why Apple build them for European countries and China ( Asia) and don’t offer them along the “no trays “ in USA for those who wants them? Also aren’t those built for Europe and Asia are a little different because of their regulations?

Nobody knows the 17 spec, though strong rumors are that the "17Air" may be trayless all over the world. Maybe all 17's, who knows.

I am running two American model SE3's in UK with no problems, but the US phones have more cellular channels so they may not work well in all situations the other way round.
