fraud abuse notifications after installing one credit card on my apple watch

I have an apple watch Ive used for years with apple pay and there are several card on my apple pay.

Recently I was notified by one of my card bank that my card was used fraudulantly and they had to send me a new card.

After getting the card and setting it up for apple pay I have used it on my macbook with no issues.

When I use it on my watch I immediatly get a call from the fraud abuse department verfying the purchase.

I have used the card in the card reader in the same store with no issue.

I have spoken to the bank every time and every time Im told they have taken care of the issue. I have had 8 calls from fraud and abuse over the last 2 weeks.

I have no problems with other credit cards on my apple watch.

After 2 weeks of this I have removed the card from the watch and installed it again.

I will be trying to use it again tomorrow but am asking apple watch users if they have any other suggestions if it doesnt work.

Banks are using algorithms (think artificial intelligence) to make decisions in realtime about transactions/payments. Something in the bank’s fraud algorithm is causing the issues.

Apple is not a bank and cannot approve or decline the transaction. Transaction data is encrypted on your Apple Watch and sent through the Payment Network to your bank. Apple does not have the key to decrypt the data. Only your bank has the key.
