Does my apple wallet have to be active in order to get a refund to my card

I am selling my iPhone, and have cancelled my paid for apple care, I am receiving a refund to my card used on my apple wallet, however when doing the refund, it gave the apple wallet number of that card. If my apple wallet is no longer active, will I still receive the refund to my bank, because I used my bank card for apple pay?

Yes you will still receive the refund. Any refund goes directly to the bank of the card used and does not go through your Wallet app. The number you saw for the refund is the token that your bank sent to your device when the card was added. Merchants use that token instead of your actual card numbers for processing transactions with your bank. Using Apple Pay just securely transmits this unique token to the merchant and has no other role in the transaction or refund.
