Question

iPhone Mirroring App causes me to enter password every time screensaver starts

While traveling in Mexico, I noticed that the iPhone Mirroring app works. In Europe this app is disabled, so I checked it out. Didn't see much use for it, but left is as it was.

Now I'm back in Europe and my Mac is now set to "Password immediately required when iPhone Mirroring is set to automatically authenticate". In the System Settings, this is grayed out, so I can't change it there either

This means that every time after my screensaver starts, I have to enter my password. This is terribly annoying.

The iPhone mirroring app won't open in Europe, so I have no idea how to get rid of this.

Please help !

Normally you would open the iPhone mirroring app. on your Mac, select settings and check the box "ask every time" Then go back to the lock screen and the field will no longer be grayed out and set to never. If you cannot do this in Europe I'm not sure how to fix. Perhaps another user will provide a solution.

Do not use this feature

Get rid of the application as in remove or delate

Not possible

It is baked into the Sealed and Encrypted Operating System

So it seems that the only option is to wait till my next trip outside of the EU, so that the iPhone Mirror app will open again and change my settings there.

* You may see a message that iPhone Mirroring is unable to connect to iPhone because iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region. iPhone Mirroring is not currently available in the European Union.

Until or If this matter is resolved between Apple the Governing Body of the EU

There really is nothing we can do to help with this matter

Still it is weird that in this particular case, you can only change Mac system settings once you're outside the EU.

The app won't open in the EU, yet its settings do have an effect in the EU.

In this specific situation

It requires two hands to chap not one ( Apple )

Speak you your EU Rep as They are the ones who made the Rules not Apple
