How do I prevent Apple Watch from misinterpreting pen shaking as a hard fall?

I shook a ballpoint pen. Apple watch thought I'd taken a hard fall. How do I make sure it's NOT contacting emergency services for me??

Segment marking gone wild Almost 1 year to the day of purchasing an Apple Watch. Over the last month I had been having problems with the watch randomly marking segments. Yesterday the latest update applied. Then last night it started marking segments as fast as it could speak, segment one marked, segment two, three, four. I wasn't touching the watch, just digging a hole to bury a body in. How is a person supposed to quietly dig a hole without attracting the unwanted attention of neighbors? I realize the usual advice is to go into settings and turn off audible notifications, but that's like putting a bandaid on a arm when it's a bruise on the leg. Have also been having it not recognize pool laps so 600 meters might end in 575 meters or 625 meters.

Fall detection did NOT work I have the latest Apple Watch, 7 I believe. One of the main reasons for my purchase was fall detection. I hike and I’m a long distance runner, often alone. on April 10th, 2023 I took a hard fall; concussion, broken bones etc. my watch did not detect my fall. I was lucky someone from a nearby business saw me and called 911. Yes, my settings are correct. It actually went off while I was clapping at a race! I see this is a problem for a lot of people. Now I’m nervous that I’ve had a false sense of security. What’s the fix? How can I test this? Very unsettling and expensive.

Watch series 8 fall detection does not work at all I have apple watch 8 and fall detection is always enabled. 2 days back, I fell and I got injury in my hand. I was wearing the watch in same hand and it could not detect anything. I got hair line fracture in the same hand, I was wearing watch. Not only this, I hit my watch also hard on the ground This is useless feature! Never rely on this. It is completely useless.

The only thing I can think of is this ... shake the pen with the other hand. The watch is quite sensitive. The only way to stop a call to emergency services is to see it on the watch face and say no.

I had the same experience breaking up ice on the sidewalk. High accelerations and a sudden stop, makes the Apple Watch think you have fallen.
