Ok, then you can resend the code, check the email address used, and also verify if it has been redeemed.

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Media & Purchases, then tap View Account.
4. Sign in to your Apple Account.
5. Tap Gifts.
6. Tap the gift that you want to resend.
7. Make sure that the recipient's email is spelled correctly. If you need to edit the recipient's email address, tap their email address, then tap it again and enter the correct address.
8. Tap Resend Gift. If you don't see Resend Gift, it has already been redeemed.

Depending on which is true, the sender does have the option to resend the card and to verify the email address used was correct. The sender can also contact Apple directly here:
