Why can’t I set a password for Apple Wallet even though my cards are added?

Can I get help setting up my wallet? I have the cards in it but I am having trouble setting the password.

There is no additional “Wallet” password beyond the device’s Passcode and Touch/FaceID as already mentioned.

An iPhone is fundamentally a single-user device.

Not sure what you mean. Your device has Touch ID or Face ID used to authenticate your wallet purchase. There is no password.

Long press on the Wallet app. Please select Require Face ID from the fly out menu and follow the onscreen instructions to lock the Wallet app using Face ID.

At least iOS 18, but maybe iOS 17, I don’t remember for certain. Probably a senior moment. 😂😂
