This has been repeatedly answered, by multiple contributors, throughout this thread...
If you are currently enrolled in a beta programme and wish to return to using the current production version, this support page provides the necessary information to remove the beta from your iPhone:
How to uninstall iOS beta software - Apple Support
Be aware that restoring an earlier version of iOS will completely reset and erase your iPhone. Assuming that you have a pre-existing iCloud or iTunes backup of your iPhone that has not been updated since installing the iOS 26 beta, your locally stored data and files can be restored after returning your iPhone to iOS 18.5; if you don't have a pre-existing backup, all locally stored data will be irretrievably lost:
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support
An iCloud or iTunes backup can only be restored to a device running the same or later version of iOS than created (or last updated) the backup. As such a backup created or updated by iOS 26 cannot be restored to a device running iOS 18.5.

There is no downgrade.
Resetting to revert to iOS 18.6.2 means no local data is preserved.
Resetting and restoring means some local data — that which has changed since the beta was installed — is lost.
If there are no backups created immediately prior to the installation of the beta, all local data is lost.
iCloud data is probably still available, and apps can be re-downloaded, independent of the reset.

But I’d likely stay with the iOS 26 beta through its upcoming release on the 15th, as that probably avoids data loss.

There is no downgrade.
This is an older thread that started during the beta, when iOS 18 was the current shipping version.
It was possible to revert to the shipping iOS version then.
iOS 26 is the current iOS version now, and Apple does not support iOS downgrades.

It should be an option to downgrade… what is that ??? I really want to downgrade to ios18
That has never been the option for that last 18 years, and for good reason.
Also note that Android does not have any supported way to downgrade either. They can find some workarounds on the internet, but that has not always worked out well for those Android users you have tried.
Downgrading isn't officially supported by manufacturers. It isn't easy to do, it may void your warranty, and you could potentially brick your device. You should not try this unless you've got experience modifying your device's firmware.

I can only guess that you would not want an option that could brick your device and require you to buy a new phone. If that was the case and Apple supported that method, then you would have a reasonable complaint, and likely a lawsuit.

I don't experience the same battery draining on 3 devices in my family after updating, so it does not seem to be a systemic problem. We do see the same battery draining reports after every major update, it happened on iOS 16, iOS 17, and even iOS 18 when it came out and it was also predicted on this site we will see them again when iOS 26 comes out. There surely will be updates as always and currently iOS 26.1 is in beta. We cannot comment on the issues that are resolved as it violates the terms of testing the beta software.
There is no going back whether that is with or without data loss. You can only move forward and wait for the next update. With iOS 18 there were 16 updates over the year, so bug fixes are an ongoing effort and there is never a software release that is "done", without the need for updates.

Apple is having an announcement on September 9th.

Downgrading is not an option. I suggest you start your own thread explaining exactly what issues you're having and what steps you've taken so far to try to troubleshoot.
otmastitel wrote:

What you think the options "should" be or what I think they should be doesn't change anything. You can let Apple know what you'd like to see here:
Note that downgrading has never been an option and that's unlikely to change. The lesson for the future is don't upgrade right away. Wait a couple of weeks and watch the forums and the news to see what people think and to see the pictures posted and the descriptions of how new features work.
… what is that ???
What is...what?
I really want to downgrade to ios18
I know you do. But you can't.

A backup copy of iCloud or iTunes only contains data, not iOS. So restoring an iOS 18 backup will still restore the iPhone to iOS 26. You could only revert from a beta to iOS 18 before the iOS 26 GA release.
You might want to downgrade or even need to downgrade.....but it is not possible to downgrade. That won't change.
Maybe if you could tell us what the issue(s) might be, we might be able to help.

Sorry, you cannot downgrade. Maybe explain exactly what the issue is and we can try to help.

iOS 13 hasn't been signed for several years. Still, you CANNOT downgrade at all.

You have made a mess for yourself and you cannot restore your phone back to 18.5 without a computer. Since you don't have a computer, you clearly aren't a developer, nor did you read or do the things you were told to do when you updated to iOS 26. You most assuredly didn't create an ARCHIVE backup on your computer, so when you do get access to a computer to restore your phone, you're going to LOSE the data on your phone.
