Pages: set ruler as default

Simple question for which I can find no answer. I need the rulers (both directions) to show in every document I create. I can find no way to set this as a program default. The brief 'help' topic does not mention it. Not a critical but a bit if pain in … I often forget to set it on new document. Even worse, when I reopen a document that had the rulers selected, they don't appear. Have to do it over again.

An answer greatly appreciated.

Because the answer will be disappointing… 😖

Pages, and this includes Pages v14.4 on Sequoia v15.5, when you save a document with both ruler axes displayed, reopening that document will have both rulers displayed. Just tested that.

If you were to open a blank word processing template and enable both ruler axes and then save it as another custom template, creating a new document using that template will open to *no* displayed rulers — until you enter ⌘R.

You can always send a feedback feature request to the Pages product team from Pages application menu.
