iOS 18.5 pdf edit page 2 select error

Pages 1 and 2 show on the screen. I’m trying to edit a pdf page 2, as adding a sharp circle only shows on page 1, but only shows the blue guide lines on page 2.

So I try selecting page 2 with the grey option at top left which works, however a left vertical black merging hides the left 5% of the PDFs.

When I select page 2 so the edit options appear, the grey button says Page 2 selection changes back to page 1 selection.
