Original Title: I set MS word as default for docx. files, but when I double click a file on Find, Mac still keeps opening it on Pages.

Technically, it appears you aren't doing anything wrong. But do this.
Highlight Word, .docx file and press Command+I (upper case i). In the palette that appears, change Open with (where it says TextMaker 2024 in this image) to Word. Then click the Change All button. You will be asked to confirm the change.
If it already says MS Word, change it to any other choice it gives you and click Change All. Set it back to Word and click Change All again.

Ignore that it says Pages in this screen shot. I use SoftMaker Office.
Yes, and it shows as default, but then opens on Pages (if I just double click the file, and don't manually choose Word). What am I doing wrong?
