How do I fix numbering issue in Pages app on MacBook Pro?

I have made a table with 2 columns. One for bird names/titles the second is for the number of images I have.

When I get to the end of page 1, it will not advance to the next page. If I copy page 1, delete the text, the numbering starts over on 1 again.

I had all of this correct in an older computer. I have about 425 birds. Lost it so now retyping from a printed copy.

Assuming you started with a word-processing Blank template (not Blank Layout), when you insert a table into Pages, its default settings will allow the table to flow across pages, and the application will not split a table row — as do Word and LibreOffice Writer (clone).

If you change the Object Placement and or Text Wrap on the Arrange panel from the defaults, it will hang at the bottom of the first page.
