Sample rate keeps changing between audio interface and logic

Everytime I open logic it defaults to 48 for the sample rate when my audio interface is at 44.1

I know I can go in to logic preferences and change it. Is there any way to set the default to 44.1, so I do not have to change it everytime.

I am using a TASCAM model 12 as my audio interface. I have not looked at changing that yet. The TASCAM defaults to 44.1 Has anyone run into this before? Thanks in advance.

Start a project using File > New from Template

Select the Empty Project template, but set the preferred sample rate:

Logic will remember this even when creating a new project using File > New
