A small dead insect went inside the 'Q' key of my macbook air M2. I don't know how it went inside but as I was trying to blow it away it directly went inside one of the keycap. What to do in this situation? Is it really something of concern?
Although it describes a completely different problem for a completely different model Mac, there is nothing wrong with attempting to clean the keyboard using the technique described here: How to clean the keyboard of your MacBook or MacBook Pro - Apple Support.
Be advised that removing the key caps on a portable Mac often results in irreparable and expensive damage.
If all works OK I would not worry. It is possible to use a small thin tool to pry off the key and clean if it becomes an issue but I would not do unless necessary.
No problem is detected as of now, everything seems to work fairly, including the 'Q' key itself where the insect went. I am typing this from my MAC itself and yeah no issues.
I will be taking this device for a service very soon so I will get it clean at that time.
