Can't change track names in Logic Pro

Mac Studio M2 Ultra running Logic Pro 11.2.2

When I try to change the name of a track, it is changeable for only about a second, then it is no longer highlighted. This includes when you double-click on a track and also when you try to rename a track. I can just barely make one keystroke before it returns to a fixed name. I use no keyboard shortcuts.

Any suggestions?
