Hi, I have updated my iPhone 14 to the new iOS 26. The os seems to not see the SIM card, it works in other phones just fine. My cell provider checked all settings with means they look fine. Rebooting didn’t help. Is there a way to fix it? It’s a physical SIM card. Or is it possible to downgrade back to iOS 18? And how?

I had the same problem, but the method of flipping the SIM card did not suit me, since the sim tray is one-sided.
as a result, after half a day, I found a solution. I contacted my provider and asked him for the correct apn settings, after installing them and restarting the phone, the network appeared. by default, iOS 26 seems to overwrite these settings and the phone cannot register on the network. calls and the Internet immediately started working

Unfortunately there was till now no way to overcome the SIM card issue. After several attempts of reinstalling iOS18 I manage to do so. It needed to be a clean copy without any backup. And the iPhone needed to be configured as a new device.
Have you tried and looked if you're in need of a carrier settings update?

This sounds like you are using an unsupported cellular carrier.
Is your carrier on this list? (You will need to select the proper region)

As mantioned, those have been checked directly by my carrier. iOS doesn’t even recognize my phone number. It was working, kinda, yesterday. My phone number was recognized and I had internet connection but it stopped again. Downgrading to ios18 and everything works fine, but I get a full screen banner to update to iOS 26 and can’t skip that.

It seems that it is only an issue on Iphone 14's. I have the same issue on my Iphone 14

Unfortunately I can’t apply that solution. I have one sim slot and the rollback to 18 ends up with a huge banner for updating to 26. Can’t skip that.
I got them from mine as well, but they the same as iPhone stock ones. What exactly did you change? I know it’s unlikely to work but I have nothing to lose. Can you share those settings?
I had the full screen thing.. I had to pick an older backup that was from iOS 18
