After macOS Tahoe Update: Notifications, Siri, and Widgets Not Working

Yeah, looks like a known macOS Tahoe glitch. After the update, Notification Center, Siri, and widgets can bug out due to a corrupted background service. Try this: open Terminal and run

killall ControlCenter
killall NotificationCenter

Then log out and back in. If that doesn’t fix it, boot into Safe Mode, let the system rebuild caches, and reboot normally. Most users report it starts working again after that — definitely seems like a software-side issue.

All three work on my Macs running Tahoe. Try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. Sometimes that will fix anomalies.

This was stumping me and I figured it out!

When mirroring to a 2nd monitor Tahoe defaulted to block notifications.

System -> Notifications -> Notification Center I had to adjust "when mirroring or sharing the display" to "Allow Notifications"

Was stuck with this for weeks, did everything here - I came across a fix for a different OS, but they had the same issues. I gave it a try and this is what finally did it for me-

"Try removing all files and directories from here:

~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.apple.UserNotifications/Library/UserNotifications/Remote/default

if doing so in Terminal you will need to grant Full Disk Access to Terminal first in System Preferences -> Privacy & Security"

The first thing you should do is uninstall CleanMyMac. It's the worst thing anyone can install and is known for damaging the system to the point it will need reinstalled.

No sorry, other than reinstalling Tahoe. Your post is the first I've seen with your problem.

Inability to access notification settings. Did all the normal steps to resolve, safe mode, reinstall etc...
